The lobby is warm and crowded, and a ridgeback flits around the edge of the throng, weaving in and out. She's underdressed, by comparison to all the suits and flowing dresses. The night is hot, though, air caught in an ornately decorated room. They catch many dragons' eyes themselves, with a conspiratorial smile, fluttering white wings demurely when they glance back at her confused and flustered.

The wall clock says showtime and she slips out the back, sliding easily into costume from years of practice. A slight breeze brushes against their snout as they step outside, silks in hand.

"Thank you all for being here tonight! We know who you're here to see...she's sly, she's salacious, she's...Stormsweet!"

The ridgeback takes to the stage in surprisingly graceful strides, makeup and glitter all blinding under the spotlight. Stormsweet, the persona, takes over so easily it feels like meeting an old friend. She flutters her wings again, before spreading them wide, beginning her dance.

Silks fly and dragons cheer from the crowd, raring with delight. Her routine is the same as always, but they try to bring something new to it at every performance, every new theatre across Sornieth. She tries to catch the eye of dragons she'd seen in the lobby - they don't recognize her now, of course, and she finds that endlessly amusing.

The night comes to an end, feeling short, as always. They're tired as they descend the steps, return to their dressing room, and return to themselves - a contented old ridgeback, looking forward only to a hot meal and a good night's sleep.
