Biography
The sun shines down, warm on the sand as you walk along the beach of Red Rock Cove. A cool breeze blows across the water, bringing with it the taste of salt and spray. The waves lap at your toes, roaring and sighing as the tide creeps in. A few gull cries echo from the cliffs, but apart from them you are blissfully alone.
Or are you? Softly, mixing with the breathing ocean, the sound of music drifts on the air. It steadily grows louder, building to a crescendo before diminishing to a gentle whisper, ebbing and flowing with the clear blue water. At last you spot the source, a solitary dragon winging his wave toward the cove.
His blue hide blends into the surf below, the golden trim shimmering like the sunlight reflecting off the depths. He glides toward you, dipping one regal claw into the ocean as he continues to murmur that beautiful sound. A proud beak and haughty neck twist back and forth, singing a melody that grabs you by the heart. He seems to trail streams of the sea itself in his wake, fluttering behind him in the spray.
His soulful song calls to the creatures of the cove. As you watch the waters begin to roil as a mass of meran folk swim to the surface to listen. They seem entranced by the music, hypnotized and held captive by the notes. They rise out of the water on strong tails, reaching with battle-scarred arms to entreat the skydancer to not end his song.
As you continue to watch, the music takes hold of you also. You can feel it seep into your skin, changing, making you one with the cove around you. With a flick of his tail and a gentle trill, the dragon turns and begins to fly back out to sea, his enraptured retinue swimming after. And you too will follow, for you cannot live without that haunting, eternal song.
