Right. I bet you thought I forgot, eh? Well. It's not that I forgot, it's just that time's a lie in this year of *gestures helplessly* BUT technically-technically there's still time! so!

Your dragons can start sharing spooky goodwill on Halloween- that's Saturday 10/31 this year (full moon! dag's working! *wasabi baby voice* help?!) and please keep those lights on until Wednesday the 4th of November since we're starting out so late this year.
If you are a Trick or Treater:
you send a trick or treat PM to a lair on the Lairs to Visit list. feel free to be as casual as "trick or treat!" or go all-out with a dressed-up dragon and a little bit of rp about their grand adventure seeking treats from Ice- or anywhere in between.
If you are a Lair to Visit:
when someone sends you a message, you reply to them with a treat attached to the PM. you can just say "Happy Halloween!" or let your imagination go wild and show off the spooky decorations your lair enjoys during Halloween.
A couple important points:
1) there's no requirements on what treats people choose to give out.
you might get a couple of trinkets, some food, or a bit of flair apparel. you might get one, you might get twenty. If you get three hats, a cat, and 25 squirrels from one lair, and an icewarden puppet from another, don't feel slighted by the second lair- and don't feel guilty for getting so much from the first lair. The point of trick or treating isn't item acquisition, it's camaraderie and fun! Say "thanks!" to each lair you visit!
2) By participating in this event as a Lair to Visit, you're only responsible for providing a treat experience to your trick or treaters.
if you have a million insect food points and no dragons to eat them, and you want to throw the lot at your trick or treaters? feel free! same thing with apparel, trinkets, materials, whatever- the only requirement is that you send one thing. you can choose to send more, but don't feel like you have to.
3) engage with RP to your own personal comfort level.
if someone visits your lair with three paragraphs of lore and two dragons in costume, you are welcome to respond with "happy halloween!" and their treat. If someone asks you "trick or treat!" you are also welcome to respond with three paragraphs and costumed dragons. if you choose to participate in the event, be prepared to encounter either response. if getting a non-RP response to an RP message is going to upset you, or if getting an RP response to a non-RP message is uncomfortable for you, bear that in mind when choosing to participate in the event.
4) Because of the length of time involved, you might send your trick or treat message and not get a response for a bit over a week. there's all kinds of site and IRL shenanigans going on at the end of October, and the goal of Trick or Treating is fun, not stress. The extended time gives people more chances to participate without worrying about being too early or too late.
