Biography
The second breads chef of the Arcane Bakery. Deals mostly with laminated doughs. Has a spirit of fire familiar named Precious who tends to the fires in her side of the kitchen.
Even though the sun is barely over the horizon, the bread kitchen is hot and full of activity. Kladeos waves to you, already elbows deep in a bowl of dough, and you wave back, glad to see him. You're looking for the other chef today, though, and you find her soon enough, already done with a batch of dough.
The coatl is bent over the table, gripping a razor tightly in one claw and lightly patting a loaf of bread with the other. You hesitate, not wanting to interrupt, and simply watch. She moves suddenly, the razor a flurry of activity, scoring the top of the loaf of bread, and when she's done you see the symbol of the Arcanist cut neatly into the loaf. The coatl scoops the loaf off of the table with a wooden paddle, expertly maneuvering it to an open oven, where a bird gently stirs the embers. When she's done, and only then, she turns to you, dusting flour off of her claws.
"You're the new apprentice." It's not a question; it's a statement of fact. You nod anyway. She picks up the razor again, bending over another loaf of bread. You watch the process repeated, not daring to say anything to her, and when the oven door is closed again she speaks. "There's a lot to do today. Find the order sheet behind me and get what we need. Tell Perrin that I want dehydrated strawberries if he has any. If not then just raisins will do. Make sure you don't forget anything."
She doesn't seem one to mince words, and you simply nod, finding the pink order sheet in its spot on the table. Unlike Kladeos, whose station is a disaster, this chef has everything in its place, and nothing extra. You start for the door, and a call stops you. You turn, and the chef is staring at you, head cocked to the side. "Make sure you wear a coat. It's cold in the garden in the mornings."
You blink, but nod, and make a note to bring a jacket with you to the surface. You look back, but the chef is bent over her table again, immersed in her work.
