Biography

Arjin
Vernal Shaman
Cryptic || Vigilant || Sincere || Engaged

fVMafaN.png
Arjin’s title: the Vernal Shaman carries weight in the Grove. Cultivated from birth, the young Skydancer was taught the ways of the Nature Flight’s oldest customs, their culture and ceremony. She learned to embody the ideas of the very seasons, to listen to the shifts and whispers of the land. Her role in in the Grove, alongside Saaru, represent the dichotomies of life and death, rest and work, sickness and health, and the old ways and new. She is a spiritual leader and a beacon of stability.

It is topically clear as to which shaman represents which half of the whole, Arjin and Saaru are quick to tell otherwise. “My patron seasons, yes? They are Spring and Summer. The Land is healthy and well-- green and fruitful then. With the warming of the Land, insects come. Insects bring sustenance. Yet, they bring plague. They bring famine upon our kin through their own greed and hunger. Through pestilence and scarcity, death comes. As death settles in the Land, bodies return to the ground allowing the next Summer to be fresh once again. The cycle remains, the cycle continues.”

Arjin speaks for Saaru, yet both of their voices can clearly be heard. When the Vernal Shaman speaks, the Grove listens.

Arjin is kept busy within the material plane, too. She acts as the Grove’s chief-midwife. Every clutch of eggs, every child hatched, is seen to by Arjin. She does not replace a mother, she is simply a guiding figure-- medically and emotionally, for mothers and their young.

Nestled between the fine lines of practicality and ritual, Arjin is constantly bustling. The Shaman is a common face within the glade. Yet she rarely stops to say hello with little more than a nod of notice or a wave. This social disservice is clearly lost on such a busy mind. She will not apologize. Still, it is beyond clear that she means no disrespect.
