Dunain the Dancer

Dunain began life in a travelling troupe of entertainers, a collection of poets, singers, tumblers, storytellers, and his family - dancers. Dunain was trained from a young age to carry on the renown of his troupe as the rest of his family before him. All skilled dancers, many dragons from all over the world would cheer as they performed and shower them in treasure. They performed in front of kings, queens, and every noble court.

However, despite this, troupes such as Dunain's were among the lower class in many areas. Their skills were not as extolled as others, and many categorized them as thieves. Sick of being downtrodden and disrespected, the brazen young Dunain ran away with a pretty little Imperial named Mouse to the realm of the Lightweaver in search of a better life.

Here in this clan, Dunain has found acceptance, and praise in the form of Mouse's adoration. Unfortunately, the warriors and mages of the clan still see Dunain as beneath them in rank and he is often pushed around. At these moments he can become hot tempered and leave to find Mouse in her garden to cool off and watch her butterflies.

During one of these moments when he ran away, he was unfortunately followed. Teasing soon turned violent as Dunain tried to stand up for Mouse. It was not her fault her name was so meek for an Imperial, and it was not her fault she preferred to garden rather than fight. Poor Mouse was caught up in the fight and ended up dying. Dunain has not been the same ever since this sorrowful moment.

Dunain, like all his family, has a small trace of magic which is expressed through his dancing. Certain dances can bring luck, prosperity, protection, victory, just about anything. Of course, it is only a trace, so the dance-spells don't always work.
