Given the rivalry between the Arcane and Lightning elements, it was expected that Queen Atalya would have trouble finding a dragon to lead House Lightning. To almost everyone's surprise, a suitable dragon presented themselves almost immediately— Duchess Corentine was more than happy to submit herself as a candidate, blueprints and schematics in hand.

While Corentine is eccentric, even compared to her fellow House leaders, there is no denying her magical talents. While she does dedicate most of her time to her numerous mechanisms, she is more than happy to unleash her powers on unsuspecting enemy troops, preferably in the form of her many automatons. Outside of military conquests, Corentine is a recluse, generally preferring her machines over social interaction. The sole exception seems to be Duchess Seren, whom Corentine is happy to swap ideas with. When she does interact with other dragons, she treats them like she treats her creations— critical of every detail, and with remarkably little tact.

Despite Corentine's hyperactive, obsessive personality, she is surprisingly well-liked amongst Vanorians. Corentine is credited with most of Vanoria's technological advancements over the past few years, including the mechanism she created with Duchess Seren, which rotates the House islands like clockwork around the castle. As such, Corentine is rarely challenged by competitors, despite her oddities being well known.
