______ Like many dragons, Spring was born with an intense innate desire to explore the vast world she’d been born into, and left her birth-clan at a young age to do just that. Alone and with only her heart to guide her, she quickly became acquainted with danger and fear, and almost just as quickly learned how to overcome them – clever, swift-footed, and alert, she taught herself how to evade danger, outsmart threats, and to do so with an exceptional grace and elegance that would have left other dragons in awe. And when she did find herself in the company of other dragons, that was precisely how they reacted; drawn to her dancer-like air, she found herself almost overwhelmed by the one threat she didn’t know how to address: attention. Having spent so much of her life alone, she had become fiercely independent and wilfully self-assured, and she had no desire to change her ways.
______ Spring spent as much time as she could avoiding populated areas, or regions where she might encounter other dragons. Where she had no choice but to make her presence known, she tried desperately to conceal her vibrant colours and control her natural grace so as to not draw attention to herself, and for a time she managed to get by without the aid or friendship of any other dragons. Soon, however, as she began to explore more of the world, she found herself longing to share her adventures with another, to know what it was to be liked for more than just her colours or flair, and began a search to find a clan to feel that she belonged to. After a time, she ventured into the Carrion Canyon, and there met Lidiya, a stern but kindly dragon who all but refused to allow Spring to continue her adventures alone. It was Lidiya who taught her the basics of healing and allowed her to discover a new calling: helping to heal the family that had taken her in and given her a place to belong.
