Zuko was a Wildclaw who worked in forging gear for members of the Arcanum, preferring to use his gained knowledge to innovate new technologies for the clan. He was the second dragon that Hecate turned against their will, and he grew closer to SirenSong because of their similar circumstances. Eventually, they became mates, and now they are the rocks that hold the other steady. Zuko is just as invested in his creations as SirenSong is in healing her patients, so they both understand their mate's devotion to their craft. This means that they may not spend as much time together as most mates do, but the time that they do share is full of kindness and gentle reassurances.

As a prior Wildclaw, Zuko is also attached to the idea of furthering his bloodline, even if he now does so as a Veilspun. He does not realize that it is for this reason that Hecate targeted him, but SirenSong is not opposed to having children to love and protect. Hecate needs the services that they both provide too much to risk their ire over hurting their children, and so the two decide that they will have them when time and circumstances allow for it. If they can help it, then they will likely try to send as many of their children off to other, safer, clans as they grow older, ensuring that Hecate cannot trap them into servitude to their swarm. Zuko may be a Veilspun now, but part of him will always remain a Wildclaw. If Hecate threatens his mate and his family, then he will fight tooth and nail to protect them. Even if it's the death of him.
