______ Valtyr got his start as a strategist early on in the clan's founding. From a young age, his parents had emphasized the importance of finding your place in the world and forging a family that will support you through your journey. He later learned that this wisdom his parents possessed was learned through experience, as they never had parents of their own. The soft-hearted Valtyr carried this lesson with him up until adulthood, where he had found a lowly job as a worker in a mineral canyon - it was during this period of time that he started to second-guess his place in life, and felt he had become stuck in a dead-end rut.

______ Enlightenment and a sense of purpose came in the form of a stranger and her mate. Andromeda would later say that she could feel the dissatisfaction and loneliness radiating off the Widlclaw in waves, and recognized an opportunity to grow her fledgling clan. They needed a strategist, someone who could plan trade routes with other clans, as well as organize defensive efforts should the need arise. Valoran, the dragon at Andromeda's side, explained gruffly that Valtyr would know the trade routes though Sorneith better than most due to his job. Valtyr, after hearing the pair's request to help build a new clan from the ground up, suddenly felt overcome with emotion and agreed to help get the clan up and running. Unfortunately, his only feasible skill up until that point was mining for salt and ores, and he had to work very hard in studying infrastructure and defense. He soon became a very successful and praiseworthy strategist, and met his future mate through this position.

______ Eir, a Wildclaw field medic, became a part of the clan much later than Valtyr, but the two soon became close. With near-constant coordination required between the two due to their respective jobs, Valtyr was able to see Eir nearly every day. They became mates after several months, but still retain a professional work relationship. The two work well together and trust each other completely (Eir often says that 'trust is a must' when it comes to strategy planning), but Valtyr cannot help but get nervous when she is out in the field. He is often required to stay within the city walls in order to be summoned quickly if needed, which he feels suits him better than being outside the walls anyways.

______ Valtyr has a not-so-hidden passion for baked goods, and often makes an excess amount when he gets nervous. Often times, Eir will come home to a mountain of baked goods carefully placed on the table inside her and Valtyr's home. Valtyr simply states that he was worried about her, as he always does when this happens, and she can't help but love him just a tad more. They aren't much to look at and Valoran accuses Valtyr of putting a ridiculous amount of salt in his creations, but most dragons seem to enjoy his baking. And even if they don't, they would never have the heart to tell him.
