Biography

The murky claws of the curse reached the clan as Curse found his way to the Starfall Isles.

Shadowy days and gloomy nights followed as the representation of normalcy slips through the cracks and the clan finds itself faced with a most poignant malediction. Curse watched as dragons in the Nesting Grounds become more agitated and impulsive, searching their hearts for answers that are just out of reach. Infertility swept the land as countless of couples raced to the most primitive of conclusions.

‘There’s something in the water’
‘Our deity has turned their back on us!’
‘We are destined to crumble into old age and disappear.’

But Curse knew. He could feel the unspoken power in his bones, latching to the unsuspecting clan mates only to wipe off their most carnal obligation. Procreation halted and thus his cursed virtue grew. Ever since Curse left the stump nest he knew his day would come to inflict the terrors of the shade on others. The day had finally come and he had learned its purpose, sending longing thoughts of pride back home. Would Slael and Mordak feel the winds change from his accomplishments?

Unlikely.

But, for better and for worse he will carry on the legacy.

For a number of days the clan was devoid of the hopeful and cheerful chatter of expecting parents. There would be no eggs to keep warm and safe at night, only a reclusive sorrow as blame shifted, unspoken but striking, back and forth though the clan. The Nesting Grounds were transformed into a spring of shame as no other dragons attempted to venture there, the void that uncharacteristically took over the nests echoed into the hearts of mates, brothers and sisters that know better than to expect any more hatchlings to join their ranks.

It was Risk that discovered that Curse was responsible for the infertility, and he offered the guardian a choice. Choose to allow Risk to attempt to remove the shadetouch from within him? or be killed?

Curse agreed to the the attempt, knowing that his curse could not be removed, afterall it was a part of his very essence.

He was right.... and wrong.

Risk didn't succeed in removing the shade at all from Curse... but his curse itself was made less potent, no longer was the clan completely infertile, they could breed, and all hatchlings were healthy.. they just had to be incubated for longer.

Many still want Curse dead, but the possibility of the curse coming back in full keep their claws, instead... Curse lives on the outskirts of the clan, and in his own way, helps protect them, afterall.. only a fool would try to kill a cursed dragon.

Risk maintains a watch on the shadecursed dragon, not because he hates Curse, but rather, because he understands better than many the weight of a bloodline.

It took some time for the dragons fo FellWing to settle, the 'curse' which had so torn them apart had become in some aspect a blessing of sorts. There was more food to go around, for there were less mouths to feed which in turn bolstered the overall health of the clan; and hatchlings.. whilst there were fewer of them, were still greatly treasured, possibly more so than before..

Curse's care of youngsters was the most surprising, for a dragon of infertility, he adores the youngest of the races, and is a patient teacher to those who do seek him out.
