Omkeren was born in the Cloudscrape Crags. When he was a hatchling, he discovered that from the other side of the mountain he lived on he could see the coasts of the Ashfall Waste. Growing up, he developed an intense love for flames and heat and a fiery personality to match. Shunned in his homeland for devoting himself to the Flamecaller, he studied metalwork and Fire magic in the Emberglow Hearth for five years. He managed to disguise himself amongst the fire dragons with his goggles, but was ultimately found out and sent away, after which he wondered through Sornieth for a few months, discouraged and wondering what to do with himself, now forbidden from answering the lifelong call of the flames. He met Demetra in the Snowsquall Tundra, right when he'd decided to give fire up and was on his way to return to his family. Demetra pointed him to the Tangled Woods, and told him to find Nebri. Omkeren is now the clan's metalworker and is responsible for keeping the torches that are scattered around the lair lit.
