Growing up, Raden endured constant physical and emotional abuse from his narcissistic parents. He was often forced into submission, becoming soft-spoken and shy, unlike the egocentric pearlcatchers he lived with. Raden willingly attached himself to a toxic 'friend', the only dragon that truly paid him any mind at the time. This same friend convinced him to run away with them and later abandoned him in the Shrieking Wilds. But fortunately, even from his hatchling days, he's prefered familiars to dragons, and his kindness towards familiars was rewarded. They helped him stay alive in the years he wandered lost in the wilderness. In fact, it was a scorchpaw prowler that first cared for him despite its strong aversion to dragons. Sometimes he recalls the years in the wilderness. Every day was a struggle, walking in circles until the pearlcatcher nearly passed out. Some familiars left him little packages of food, and even makeshift tools, often brought by Leon, his own familiar. In return, Raden learned how to fix their broken bones, pierced paw pads, or sprained wings. His natural affinity for nature and Leon's guidance helped him to heal the familiars who came by. It focused Raden's energy and calmed him. But one day, it wasn't a familiar that Leon brought to their camp. It was Azriel. | ____________________ |

Raden is quiet, thoughtful and honest. Coming from the family he did certainly humbles a dragon, even a pearlcatcher. He doesn't speak unless he has to, which some dragons mistake as shyness. Therefore he doesn't talk much about the years he spent in the wilderness. Some say it brought him closer to familiars, and others say it drove him to near madness. He just says it's lucky that Azriel found him when he did. If you're looking for Raden, you'll likely find him in the bestiary, taking care of a menagerie of familiars. |
