Gaster is a remarkable scientist, though everyone keeps forgetting about him as soon as they turn away from him. The only one who really remembers Gaster is Sans. Sans steps in to avoid having "the strange Spiral" thrown out of the camp by the Guards on a regular basis and will fetch Gaster back in if he does end up outside the barrier. Papyrus doesn't always remember Gaster, but so far he's the only one who comes close to remembering him as completely as Sans does. For a Spiral, Gaster is quiet and prefers to keep to himself. His work sometimes consumes him and he forgets to eat or sleep for days, though Sans will come check on him regularly. Sometimes Gaster will mutter about it being "Dark, darker, yet darker" even though the torches are lit and casting a bright light. Sans doesn't like hearing those words and a devastated look will cross his maw when Gaster utters them. There is a lot of quirks and oddities about Gaster - one of them being his claws shift from blue to orange and sometimes a mix of both when he attacks. His Capsule gene contains a dark goop that Gaster says is himself, though he doesn't seem to mean it is decorative or cosmetic. Gaster also says that he's the oldest of the three and Sans agrees with him and will say Gaster is "pretty old". Recently, Gaster acquired a deck of Magic Cards! While he isn't a Trickster, Gaster does use his new cards as a way of communicating with others since they seem to have difficulty (well, Sans understands him perfectly). |
