Even upon birth, Delacouri had always been considered as an invaluable treasure to both his parents and the court. He was already born with immense power, to the point that it could be felt, but as Delacouri grew up his own power began to become too much for his own body to handle. As such, a crown was created to suppress this power, as to avoid their treasured prince from exploding from the inside out. It didn't go as planned; instead the crown released the excess power through creating tree-like growths on Delacouri's body, with the leaves containing the excess.

However, this lead to his parents and the court becoming overprotective of their prince. It was eventually too much for Delacouri, to the point he had ran away from his suffocating home to find a place with more freedom. These feelings and events led to him finding the Skysong and claiming it for his own.
