"A dragon named Gentle? Let's make this quick."

Diresh sneered at the list of dragons he was set to train that day, seeing such a simple, borderline disappointing name. He had little hope for most of the dragons he taught, but this was... a step below most. He shoved the paper back into his pocket. Long ears swiveled at the sound of a dragon approaching.

'Pale hide, soft demeanor, lost look in their eyes... yep, bet that's the one.'

Diresh sighed to himself, thrusting the dull end of a sword into the dragon's hands. Either this kid would learn some combat basics, or get kicked to the war for dominance with the ability to take a few extra blows. Diresh rarely cared which.

The dragon named Gentle took the sword, caressed it in his claws, appreciated the poorly forged stick of metal that could hardly be called a weapon. One run of his dull claws and a thoughtful sigh later, his pale yellow eyes narrowed on Diresh.

"Well, come on, 'Gentle', let's g-"

Diresh's sentence was cut short. A quick leap forward, a blindingly fast strike, and Diresh's own weapon clattered to the floor.

Gentle offered a small, smug smile as he lifted Diresh's weapon to hand it back to him.
