HISTORY

Aldwyn and his mate have been many things, but as far as they remember, they've always been together. There was no Aldwyn without Choin and vice versa. They've seen their offspring come and go, live great lives, and give themselves over to the Eleven to fight the Shade.

They began in Arcane, of that they do remember. They were part of a great clan and had both started out as Mirrors. Getting started was difficult, but eventually, the had set aside a little paradise for themselves. However, their area was plagued by a horrendous storm and, unfortunately, the two of them were buried beneath the shelter they thought would protect them from the raging elements.

All was dark.

When the couple woke, they were Pearlcatchers. Thinking they were blessed by the Arcanist, they set about their new lives in complete devotion to him. In the end, it led to them heading out as his Exalted, fighting on the front lines against the Shade. They served him in whatever way they could, doing his bidding and holding back the threat that was constantly attempting to destroy the world that they knew.

It was a bit more than the couple could handle. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time when a Shade-touched Emporer struck. Aldwyn and Choin fought with the best of them, but their unit was overtaken, and though the Emporer was eventually defeated and brought down with the help of the Arcanist himself, the two dragons were crushed underfoot.

All was dark.

They woke amongst the rubble, alone and surrounded by the cold, blank faces of their comrades. With nothing but each other to rely on for both safety and comfort, the two navigated the fields and wondered why only they had come back. Why they've defied death not once, but twice.

Together, they sought an answer. The search took them to an accomplished transmuter, and he got to work immediately. Unfortunately, his experiments did more than they had bargained for. The cauldron they were working in exploded from a volatile concoction of goo, materials, and slime. They'd thought those bubbles and roiling brew had been a good sign, a sign that they were moving in the right direction, but . . .

All was dark.

This time, they found themselves transmuted beyond recognition. A new species known as Bogsneaks. Dismayed, they left the transmuter and gave up any notion of ever finding out why they were cursed with this immortality, with this bad luck.

For a time, they found a home within Nature and were at peace within the Ivory Gardens. When a group left to escape the overcrowding, they remained. They enjoyed the scenic clan and the wonderful leaders, but it seemed that their misfortune would follow them even out in the peaceful gardens of Nature and the clan was raided by a group of Plague dragons. Few escaped, but the rest were burned or buried beneath the rubble and toppled trees. Aldwyn and Choin . . .

All was dark.

Their awakening was met with apathy and a sense of familiarity. They were moving, which they found odd, and it was cold, but their fur insulated them. Had this not been the third time, they might have been alarmed to find themselves as something new, something that had only been spoken up in legends and tales.

Gaolers. They were being carted somewhere, and upon their awakening, were told that they were thought dead and apologized for the misunderstanding. Neither of them had the slightest idea what was going on, however, and decided to be forthcoming and truthful and the nice Gaoler was able to explain where they were and what they were. When their education was finished, the two chose the Seeker Order as their own and set out again, knowing better than to stay in one place for too long.

Eventually, they found their way back to Blitzshadow and his group of dragons. The same ones that had left the Ivory Gardens before the raid. Aldywn and Choin told them of what had happened and they were grief-stricken, but they knew there wasn't anything they could do.

Now, Aldywyn and Choin live at the Point Noct resort in a sort of retirement, telling stories of their long-lived lives. They have their own campfire and their own little lair nearby for guests to visit and sit around with their snacks and gifts. Here, surrounded by strong dragons and kind faces, Aldwyn and Choin feel that they can finally be at peace and.
