Tsunami burst out of her shell with surprising force and energy, immediately darting her eyes around the nest soaking everything in. The first noise she heard was a low laugh, like the sound of tectonic plates shifting at the bottom of an underwater trench. She immediately turned her eyes towards the sound, her gaze meeting those of a pair of yellow eyes. "This one is probably going to be a handful," the owner of the eyes said, "aren't you my little one?" Tsunami cocked her head to the side, not yet realizing that the dragon speaking to her was her father.

Tsunami did indeed turn out to be a handful. She was feisty, opinionated, and hated being told what to do. She would swim beyond the boundaries her parents set for her, play pranks on her siblings and the other clan hatchlings, and would never shy away from a physical fight. In spite of all this, she still held a special place in the heart of her father who would always be there to bail her out of trouble (even though it was often followed by a very stern conversation about how her actions were wrong). When she was old enough, he would train with her (since she had a natural inclination towards fighting). He suspected that someday she would become a clan protector or warrior, and he hoped it would help channel her confrontational nature and boundless energy into a productive place.


And when she was old enough, she did end up leaving her home. She longed for adventure, new faces, and a place where she could start a fresh chapter in her life. Her father was sad to see her go, but was proud of the dragoness she had become.
