"What you are asking for is treason." Miro stared into his simmering cauldron, unable to see a reflection in the thick, green brew. Narusa, who stood in front of him, scoffed, losing her patience. "Come on," she said, stressing her words. "I haven't asked for something you haven't done before." He stirred the brew, belittling the matter. He didn't have time for any little requests. "Whatever I have done before was with our leader's consent." Narusa growled as she towered over the alchemist, trying to intimidate him. She was one of the strongest in the clan, and as impulsive and pompous as their leader. Her mere presence seemed to affect her surroundings, but that didn't make him falter. "I command you." she demanded, "You will make a stone to make me more powerful - even more than Nestan!" Narusa grew even more restless as Miro kept his uninterested stance. "I'll make you ascend positions." she pledged, "You know I will pay you well." With a flip of his wrist and a snap of his fingers, the deck of trickster cards shoot from his pockets and surrounded Narusa's head and neck. She kept still, as the cards' edges were surprisingly sharp even to a scaly touch. "What do you think you're doing, noodle!?" "I am not interested in whatever you can give me." he looked up from his cauldron, now completely serious, "Stop wasting my time with your incessant yapping about nonsense." "I don't believe you." Narusa gave him an intense glare. The plague insignia hovering on her forehead glowed and hissed, "We all have a price, Witch, or a breaking point. Which one do you prefer?" "None." The trickster deck began to collapse, card by card, until Narusa was completely free, and Miro was merely staring into the distance, with the plague mask concealing his features or emotions. "You cannot give me what I want," He said, and went back to stir his bubbling brew. "And I won't give you what you want" Narusa was about to strike right to the head, but stopped just as her claws touched the feathers on his head. "And you realized we cannot kill each other," Miro solemny nodded to himself. "He would notice, and he will crush you, like nothing, because after all, you really do need that power up" "I don't need you." she hissed, "I'll become stronger on my own, and then I'll crush you both." Narusa walked away from Miro, bumping into shelves and dropping things as much as she could on her way out. Once she was gone, Miro could feel the environment of his room going back to normal. "We will see" he said, dipping a claw into the green mucous brew and bringing it into his mouth below the mask. |
