Nyght's dark, sparkling colors give her an air of mystery that she takes advantage of. She has made all kind of claims about being some sort of fantastical being or another. Did she say she was infected with the Shade, or was she the result of some Arcane curse. Eh, she's probably said both in the past week; the exact details or having her story straight aren't really what matters here.

Her attitude fits her tall tales. She speaks in an overly-ornate and dramatic fashion and tends to overreact to everything. Her pearl has taken on a dark color; she Nyght says that it's a reflection of her inner despair, but there's a persistent rumor among the clan that she stains it with ink regularly. Any of her fellow pearlcatchers that hear this are quite distraught at the idea.

All of this is a ruse that she maintains for what she calls "social science." She's created an artificial persona that she claims (to herself) helps her analyze those around her. The reactions of others to this ridiculous drama queen is highly telling about their levels of gullibility, sympathy, and whatever other traits she tells herself she's examining. She sometimes gets the thought that her whole sociology gig is really just a way for her to overcome her rather boring and dissatisfied original self and get some attention, positive or negative, but that can't be right, right?

Nyght found it hard to explain her interests to others. Either they didn't understand, or they didn't agree. She was aware of the way others perceived her but she found comfort in the whispers of her cards more than the whispers of the others. She finds peace in the unknown and comfort in what others find the opposite. There was a kind of private secrecy in the darkness, a warmth like the wings of a mother.
