Biography
Soral grew up in the farthest reaches of The Shifting Expanse, hiding in the precious little shade he could find during the day, and roaming in search of food during the night. He remembers a time, long ago, when he had a family, a home. But that time is long gone, and all that is left is bittersweet memories of what he once had, before the storm that tour apart everything he had, everything he loved.
It was a bleak day, hot and dry, when he found a lone Fea, Sheltering ageist the wind in a small hollow in the rocks. That day changed everything.
Her name was Gale. It was as if Windsinger himself had shaped her, painting a wild joy into her eyes. But their was a darkness inside her to. Memories of before...
She started having terrible nightmares, and i would wake in the night to her screaming. Her eyes took on a dull hue, and she jumped at every little sound. She started to act different around me and her children, as if we where enemies, rivals. I knew it was unsafe to stay. She was unstable. So i started to plan a route to take me and my children far from here. I marked in on a map, then hid it.
I came back that night. I would spend one last night with Gale, then leave in the morning. I didn't check to see if the map was still there. I didn't notice the tears staining her perfect face, nor the crumpled parchment she clutched to her chest.
I awoke to a strange noise, like the tapping of claws against stone. I stirred, turning in the direction of the noise. But suddenly cold, hard talons pinned me down. I opened my mouth to scream, but no sound came out. My eyes locked with a pair of bright, electric blue ones. A fire burned in them. Of anger, of loss, of betrayal. I looked into the eyes of a creature that had once been my mate, and my friend. But this creature was none of those. I felt hot breath on my face, a whisper in my ear. And then razor teeth closed around my throat.
But My Story Is Far From Over...
