B I O G R A P H Y

____This young Obelisk is the proclaimed heir of the progenitor clan founders, Trickmurk and Riptide, making them the current chief. Many question their choice, but Idrescy'ril’s loyalty and position have yet to be challenged. Their full name is Idrescy'ril-Ae'ithus Rit'ikamaq Ingelaii'gyr-Kir'ken'dae. However, since that's too long and difficult to pronounce in the Common tongue, they shorten it to Idrescy'ril Ingelaii.

____Idrescy'ril is a quiet, reserved individual with a strong moral compass and a broken view of the world. They grew up in an environment that wasn’t the kindest or most supportive, and when they moved on to work in a mercenary’s guild, they learned the hard way that things you love tend to be the ones taken from you most. Because of this, Idrescy'ril has a constant worry that nothing they ever do will be enough, believing themself unworthy of the love of others. This, coupled with her fear of continuing to lose those close to him, has lead to them pushing his friends away over the course of their lifetime. They're slowly accepting the concept of opening up to others and that what they can’t do doesn’t matter, and that there is nothing anyone can truly do alone; that everyone is only mortal.

____Tending to keep to themself, Idrescy'ril actively avoids loud spaces and confrontation. They seek refuge in the gardens or library with Dizandi when they get overwhelmed, which can trigger a fight-or-flight response so strong that they sometimes experience what others simply call a breakdown: an "eldritch presence" inhabits their body, taking control, and simply wanders the lairs. So long as eye contact and sudden movements and sounds are avoided, they will ignore others. If the presence feels threatened, the eldritch being will lash out, causing great harm to both the victim and Idrescy'ril themself. When their energy is depleted, they typically black out where they stand, remaining in a state of disarray for a few days. The Obelisk doesn’t like talking about it, though they claim it stems from survivor’s guilt, refusing to elaborate on its origin.

____My current D&D character, a human (variant) Warlock (17). Their backstory mainly entails having been a god (named Da'arsigus) in their past life, then being summoned from the void beyond death nearly two thousand years later by a rather large 'cult' of the ancient gods (it's closer to a fully functioning and civilized organization, but was labeled as a cult by a powerful religious group called the High Church of Enki).

____With no memory of their past life, they were regarded as only a harbinger for a greater being to be summoned. Because of this, they were then raised alongside the other children by Pavull and trained by Bucket. When Idres was nine years old, their town was attacked and burned to the ground by the High Church. He fled the carnage to the larger, neighboring city of Inzeo with two other Warlocks, Reylah Okana and Alder Rulan. They're now searching for the remnants of their family and hunting down those who tore them apart.

____At the time of our campaign setting, Idres is a 17-year-old, 5’6” (167cm) ball of rage. They have deep, cool-toned skin splattered with freckles, and white, crack-like markings that resemble scars crossing their back, arms, neck, and jaw. Their dark hair is box-braided into pastel, rainbow-colored extensions, tied back in a messy bun that falls out frequently, and they wear blue and gold half-framed glasses (near-sighted; they're practically blind otherwise). Da'arsigus's holy symbol is tattooed into their right forearm, embedded with small gems and adamantine wires that act as their arcane focus, negating the need for spell components.

____They usually wear a dusty-brown travelling cloak over studded leather armor and red robes. A thin, rainbow-patterned scarf is worn at almost all times, with flexible bandages and bracers to hide the scars and tattoos on their forearms and hands. Their most disturbing and distinctive feature other than their scars are their eyes; an unnaturally vibrant, almost neon purple, with a ring of blue around their pupils. It’s been that way since they were born, so they've mainly chalked it up to their unnatural origins.
