-inherited her family's debilitating opal (although her mother found a workaround, she was too anxious about it
-before it set in too deep, she went through a 'cure' process
-the capsule keeps the opaline fragments liquefied and allow her normal range of movement
-her plague born nature helped stabilize the opal + now the capsule
