Surgeon is Surgical's apprentice. Surgical has gotten frail and sick from a rare condition caused by exposure to an infected dragon's blood and decided to pass along her knowledge to a suitable student to take over the clan's doctoring duties. Surgeon is clean cut and sharp with her words despite her youth, often hurting when she means to simply inform. She's taken to using her feather crest and antennae to communicate better with her teacher and Felixe, similar to Chirurgiae. As her mentor's health slowly worsens, Surgeon's size and expertise quickly grows. She is now able to deftly piggyback Surgical wherever need be, and is quick and professional when treating anything from a broken bone to a slight cough. It may be due to the almost 24/7 training or just a knack for doctoring, but the clan is grateful that they won't have to go without easy access to medical service. Though this Skydancer is young, she seems unaffected emotionally by her teacher's condition. She hasn't had much time to get to know the rest of the clan, but they spot her now and then gazing skyward with an oddly wistful expression, claws gently tracing her own markings without needing to see them. With Surgical gone, the now very skilled Surgeon has completely taken over medical duties. She has proven rather thoughtful and gentle when treating patients, though she is a tad emotionally unattached to the clan members. No one blames her, however, not everyone can have a safe, happy youth and most everyone wholeheartedly believes she will open up with time, despite anything she may have dealt with as a hatchling. Surgeon still has the habit of tracing her markings when (she thinks) she is alone, but immediately shakes herself and stops if she becomes aware of another nearby. The sneakier clanmembers swear they don't follow her; they merely happen upon her whilst wandering the lair. She claims she doesn't mind the intrusions, it IS a fairly small lair for so many dragons. |
