Hestia can't remember a time in which she hadn't felt her connection to the very place she called her home. She was born in the care of the Viridian Labyrinth, her loyalty to the Gladekeeper unmatched by most dragons and her protective nature as a Guardian, made her wary of visitors from other flights who wandered through the forest she loved so dearly. But sometimes they would stop and speak with her, from time to time there were Guardians just like her who would tilt their heads and ask if she had a Charge. For all the time that Hestia had lived in her birth element she hadn't felt the need to search, but all the older Guardians would tell her that the need to explore would come. But time passed and the only kind of urge she felt to look for her Charge was a forced one, making it hard for her to leave behind the place she had always known.

Despite the protest that went all through her Hestia left behind the Shrieking Wilds with a quiet promise to return just as fast as she possibly could. But she had no idea where she even wanted to begin looking, the Guardian picked a random direction and simply started walking towards it without a clue of what was there. But she didn't dare fly while still in the sight of her home as it felt like she was betraying the place she loved so much. Her search felt aimless and confused as she kept going however, great irony within that thought as she was supposed to be looking for answers for herself, not feeling more and more lost the further along she went! It was only when she reached the Tsunami Flats that she had felt anything resembling comfort along her lonely journey, as she met a bright Tundra by the name of Oris.

Hearing of her struggles with finding her Charge made the Tundra quickly decide that he would help her in her search, he couldn't point out things that could be her Charge of course, but he could at least help her with basic things like food, water and company to speak with. It made Hestia feel vaguely comforted to have someone along with her as opposed to going all alone as she had for so long, but even with Oris her journey still seemed just as aimless as it had before. He comforted her many times whenever she seemed so tired of searching, especially when she had the Ashfall Waste in her sights and ultimately suggesting to her that maybe the best idea for her was to turn back, and go home to the place where she felt so connected to. Part of Hestia protested as she still had yet to find her Charge, and she felt that if it was back in the Viridian Labyrinth wouldn't she have found it already? But homesickness had taken over her so badly that all she could do was nod and lead the way back to where she had started.

Just touching the shoreline of the Viridian Labyrinth again made her feel so much better, looking ahead at the wilds that she had loved so much Hestia couldn't wait for things to go back to the way they had been before. Oris had even commented that this was the happiest he had ever seen her in all the time they had spent together, which was when a realization truly sunk in for her; the labyrinth itself was her Charge. There was no creature, dragon or plant within it that stood out particularly as something she felt such a connection with, the only thing that filled the void where such an essential part of a Guardian's life stood was none other than the place she had been since the day she had hatched. But to say that she didn't feel connections to dragons in particular here would be a lie, as Hestia had decided to make her companion throughout the travel her very own mate.

Together the two traveled through the lands she had always known, but upon hearing rumor of a nature spirit named Yavanna, Hestia's usual rounds through the wild was put on hold so she could see this 'spirit' for herself. Sure enough the Tundra she met was capable of controlling the plants all around her, and the Guardian asked to stay as a visitor to the clan the 'nature spirit' lead in order to keep an eye on her and her powers, which Yavanna agreed to. But the longer Hestia stayed the more she had realized that the leader had never agreed to any of the thoughts about her being a spirit or deity of any kind, she just went about her business without giving in to thinking she was such a thing that they described her to be. With that Hestia came to a silent sort of understanding with her, enough so to at least tolerate her presence in her protected domain, but they still hardly ever see eye to eye.

Yavanna was sadly not the only problem in this clan either, as Vaniel also lived there and was practically a forest fire waiting to happen. Most curiously though this Guardian's Charge literally was the very forest that he was mere moments away from threatening to burn down, making Hestia feel sympathy for him but also very wary. Between him and his clan leader, Hestia decided to stay in the clan from time to time if only to keep an eye on both of them for a bit longer and be sure nothing happens to her well guarded domain. At least while she has stayed Oris has remained by her side, traveling with her whenever she leaves to look around the Viridian Labyrinth and being a comfort for her whenever Hestia needs it.
