Never forget that once you held the paw of a beast. You felt the warmth of its side and the swirl of its fur. Never forget that once you fell asleep to the creature’s beating heart, it’s lullaby of breath. Your hand rested softly on its face, your eyes gazing into amber spheres of spirit. Once, you were able to feel everything. Once, you could hear the beast’s song, drifting through your dreams and calling you ever onward.

Always remember that you were important. Your energy was always welcome, always cherished. Always remember that the beast will never leave you. Even in shadows, even in dust, throughout time, beyond death, the creature remains. In your darkest moments, in your weakest state, a strong steady shoulder is always there. When your tears fall, they are nuzzled away and collected by your protector.

When you are far from familiarity, adrift in the world, and fear grips you tightly – remember all of this. The beast will never leave you. It will turn it’s golden eyes to you and show you sunsets and sunrises. The rumble in its chest will sing you to sleep and warm your heart when it feels frozen. It will curl it’s tail around you and keep the demons at bay.
