Calla uses her shadow magic to deceive and trick her enemies. She also is an adept assassin, although she does not revel in those skills. Though she has a number of acquaintances and contacts during her time as a wanderer, she has little presence in her new home. She misses her family dearly, and her deepest unspoken wish is that one day she would feel herself worthy of reuniting with them.
Calla grew up in a high ranking close-knit family. Together her and her twin sister tested the boundaries of their innate magic in the heart of the Wispwillow Grove. Their ensuing illusions and tricks were tolerated by their clansmates and siblings with amusement. Life was generally peaceful and kind, and she was sheltered from the worst of the world.
Life changed when Calla's beloved grandmother was killed foraging in Plague. Details of the incident were muddy, and Calla was not satisfied with her family's decision not to follow up on this tragic event. Exasperated and impetuous, she set out on her own to discover the truth. She survived her quest, barely, but she was forced to use her abilities for more than just playful pranks. In time the trail grew cold. She was unwilling to return home with nothing to show for herself except new abilities her family would find abhorrent.
