The Hateful

B I O G R A P H Y

Hadeon is a brutal, spiteful dragon that seems to run purely off of hate and anger. He’s unfriendly at best and downright violent at worst, despising the company of others besides his familiar Deimos, who he seems to love as best someone like him could love anything. He’s soft-spoken most of the time, his voice barely making it above a whisper, but there’s almost a tremble in it, as if he’s constantly holding himself back from slaughtering everyone in the room. And...perhaps he is. Because there’s a gleam in his eye that tells anyone that looks too deep that he’s thirsty for blood.

A lot of his hate seems to be directed towards dragons in power, but especially dragons that believe themselves to be above others and use their power to hurt or degrade others. While it may seem like a valid thing to be angry about, Hadeon takes it a little too far, actively pursuing and brutally slaughtering anyone he thinks deserves it, even if he was wrong or misunderstood the situation. His trail of blood and violence eventually led him to Asida, where his target became two dragons - Ameth and Bruce, both of whom had power and used them to crush and belittle others.

When he first came to Asida, he put on his mask and presented himself as a dragon cursed to fight, and promised Asimona that if she gave him a place, he’d fight for her. What she didn’t realize when she accepted him, is that the curse wasn’t just for him - the sword he carries isn’t any old sword, but a Shade-touched blade that causes those nearby to become more prone to anger and violence. The presence of Hadeon and his cursed sword caused the tension already building in Asida to explode, causing the Divide that tore the clan apart. Hadeon chose to remain back with his targets, pairing up with Bruce, for now, until Ameth has been taken down. After that, he’ll turn on his own leader and his work here will be finished.

B I O G R A P H Y

Hadeon, at least, has a reason to harbor so much hatred for dragons in power. He hatched without magic into a clan of dragons that valued magic higher than anything else. Thrown out as a hatchling, he tried to seek refuge in a plague clan, to perhaps get back at his home-clan, but they, too, tossed him aside when he proved incapable of even defending himself. He was young. He’d been beaten down so many times. He was living alone and no one would spare a glance his way. This was the seed of hatred that he allowed to grow into his very core.

LAt one point, he found himself imprisoned by a cult of Shade-worshippers and forced through experiment after excruciating experiment, further twisting his already scarred body. His hate and rage grew and grew and he came to despise power and also the Shade and told himself that, when he got free, he’d destroy anyone that used their dark power. During his time there, he became close to a snake-beast named Deimos, and they plotted to escape together.

SHis moment came when the cult crafted a strange sword with the Shade’s power. The one that imbued it with its magic held it for a moment before collapsing and dying in front of them. Upon realizing that the sword drained magic, they had Hadeon hold it, to see if he, too, would die. But, instead, when he held the sword, it gave him power. Incredible power. And that was his chance. He didn’t hesitate, immediately cleaving through the Shade dragons in front of him, the sword granting him strength and agility far beyond his own. He freed the rest of the dragons, and put the ones too far gone out of their misery, before taking Deimos and the sword and leaving to wander on his own, where he began to carve out his legacy.
