Ukulele & Xaphoon are the music teachers of Scorched Rock, who seek to teach hatchlings of all species and sizes the music of the island. They help preserve the history of the island's earliest days by memorializing the legends and fables into song form, which are then taught to the offspring of the dragons. Music lessons are held under a huge palm-roof pavilion on the beach overlooking the Searing Sea. The hatchlings can dig their claws into the warm golden sands and learn how to make leis and flower crowns under Xaphoon's careful instruction.

Gentle Xaphoon, the she-coatl with the beautiful voice, she teaches hatchlings the art of song and the beauty of flowers alongside her mate, Ukulele. One of the first songs he'd ever written was for her, when they were first courting. Hailing from the Nature Flight, Xaphoon has a way with flowers that never ceases to amaze and delight her students, Xaphoon being the motherly, nurturing sort.

Like Ukulele, she too believes that music and an appreciation of nature can lead to a more peaceful life for all dragons, and not just on Scorched Rock either. Though not quite as musically gifted as Ukulele, she is still talented enough to sing the accompaniment to much of his instrumental pieces as well as duets.
