Chapter 1: Discovering Laughter

____________________________

Stephanie was the last dragon of her clutch to hatch out unto the proud eyes of her parents; at present she remains the final hatchling they ever produced. They were part of a Plague Flight clan of such numbers and dedication to the Plaguebringer that they were allowed to reside right beside the notoriously noxious Wyrmwound. Given that fact Stephanie herself was born alligned to the Plague element despite the fact that neither of her parents were Plague dragons by birth. She and her siblings grew up alongside other young dragons of that element and subsequently lived their lives with much the same sentiment in mind - survival of the fittest and overall strength in the face of danger or trials of any kind was to be their collective purpose in life. Right into her adulthood Stephanie kept to this sentiment herself.

Each day would go by in much the same way as all of those that had preceeded it. Eventually, however, Stephanie came to realise how bored she was becoming and how little will she subsequently had to go about the things she had been doing for so long. She lapsed into ponderous thought even as she made herself go about her usual work, not wishing to displease the Plaguebringer with a lack of devotion until, one fateful day, she unintentionally caused a fellow dragon to trip up and fall down face-first. For the first time in her life that she could remember, Stephanie found herself laughing. The sensation of amusement was nothing short of intoxicating for her. Though she'd not initially meant to do it, the delight she got out of causing her friend's misfortune was just the sort of feeling she'd been unknowingly craving. Perhaps it was something she got from her father, who was a Shadow dragon by birth, but Stephanie had found something she enjoyed and there was no way she was going to give it up after that first tantalising glimpse of how enjoyable amusement could feel.

Chapter 2: Embracing Mischief

____________________________
FpYGiAO.png
In the days that followed Stephanie wholeheartedly threw herself into her effort to cause mischief in the hopes of experiencing genuine amusement and laughter again. Ever since the first incident it had been nothing less than an addiction; to that end she felt endlessly compelled to seek that feeling again and again. Not a single dragon she came across was safe from her increasingly skillful mischievous efforts. One by one she pranked virtually everyone she knew and a few that she didn't. At last she felt happier and more entertained than she'd ever felt before. Alas, however, it was not enough.

While most were displeased with Stephanie's increasingly manic mischief her father, Javille, was secretly proud of her having discovered something of a calling in life. He suggested that she travel to the realm of the Shadowbinder wherein she would find dragons of a similar mindset. Delighted by the thought of being able to find those who were tricksters like herself she immediately took her father up on the offer. She headed right for the Tangled Wood to seek out a Shadow dragon or two. The first she came across was a dragon by the name of Mirth, and she greeted him the best way she knew how... with a practical joke. Impressed by her mischievous skill and enthusiasm for someone who was not of his element, Mirth decided to take her under his wing.

Stephanie is infectiously charismatic and possesses boundless energy. She is incredibly casual and informal in how she conducts herself, and her endlessly charming tone makes her very persuasive by nature. She tends to use her ability to entertain almost anyone to her advantage, using jokes and stories to win the trust of her fellows so as to make them less likely to expect any mischievous acts of hers. As a result she's very rarely found out for the mischief she enacts, and thus continues to laugh it up whenever she gets away with such a thing.
