Haemodrei

Hear the tale of nature's child stained red. The son of the Plaguebringer with the sight of the Gladekeeper. The one who left the Viridian Labyrinth and wandered the scarred wasteland for 50 days and 50 nights. The channeler of the infested blood...Haemodrei.

Outcast a young age for the red scales that coated his body. Many saw these markings as a sign of the Plaguebringer's influence strengthening. The clan was thrown into disarray as they worked to combat the vile power corrupting their home and children...However no such thing had occurred. Haemodrei's colouration was simple genetics and nothing more. As the old adage goes "better safe than sorry." and Haemodrei was outcast. He wasn't exalted as such an act might incur the Gladekeeper's wrath so the red stained dragon was simply ignored.

No one noticed when he left, they didn't even name him so no one lost sleep over the missing ridgeback. Haemodrei wandered out of the emerald hell that was nature's domain and into the rotting paradise of the Plaguebringer. One thought echoed in his mind, something he'd heard all his life. "Child of the Plague." All he met in the wasteland was hostility, no one would harbour a dragon of nature, such an act would be an affront to the Plaguebringer. Atleast...that's what the simpler clans thought.

On Haemodrei's 50th night he was ready to give up, his food supplies had run out and all he could see for miles was the leathery wasteland. Soon the ridgeback collapsed from exhaustion, thinking he would never wake again. Then he woke up, surrounded by the red prying eyes of the plague. He expected them to attack but instead they handed him a book, with the emblem of plague proud on the cover. No words were exchanged but he knew what this meant.

On the 51st night, the mother of all things rotten gained a new acolyte.
