Venus

Venus settled down in Asima's clan after a very profitable con.

While most coatls make the effort to learn common, Venus stuck to her roots. In her eyes it didn't matter anyway. In her native tongue she sounded more expressive and intelligent. Meanwhile, in common, she had a weird lisp and her speech was stilted at best. Either way, most mixed lairs outside of her home clan didn't take her very seriously. This was super frustrating, as she had been above average in intelligence since birth and was expected by her parents to someday work in a top Lightning laboratory. This is hard when you can't get hired because no one speaks coatl.

She would just start up her own laboratory, but of course she lacked the money to do so.

With her quick wits she soon turned her frustration into profit.

Realizing that she could use other people's perception of her to her advantage, she would go from clan to clan (usually ones with few to no coatls) playing the dumb and pretty lairless female. Meanwhile, she'd secretly steal and hoard small amounts of treasure and equipment until she eventually vanished without a trace. It was a pretty good con and she got away with it for years. She traveled the seedy underbelly of different lands, trading and selling rare items and working various mechanic jobs in between. Her childhood dreams of stuffy Lightning labs faded, and even when she'd met her monetary goals she kept going for the thrill of it.

This kind of came to a stop when She came to Asima's clan and Wave greeted her in fluent coatl.

Or maybe it was when Charlie hinted that they had a space just perfect for a lab.

She kind of fell for both the Wind nerd and the opportunity to tear into all the mechanical loot she'd been collecting so eh.

She has a fascination with voices, and is currently experimenting with the ways magical fields warp electronics with a little help from Darling. her main focus is on things like 'ghost recordings' and the effects of different types of magic on basic machinery. She also dips into biological studies sometimes. Tengu are...very interesting to her. She believes they might have more in common with the disturbing energy signatures her machines pick up sometimes than she feels comfortable with.

She doesn't even try to speak common anymore, relying on her re-wired golem gauntlet as a translator. Her children speak both languages fluently.

She cheats at cards and has never been caught.
