 Telen is the accomplished tattooist of Shadowclan. Her work is very much admired and her name has become somewhat well known in tattooing circles, much to the horror of other Shadowclan members. The Shadowclan leaders would prefer the Clan remains secretive and anonymous, their existence a rumour to all outsiders. But Telen always jumped at the chance to practice her craft and tended to travel in the early days of her apprenticeship, making (and loosing) friends easily as she and Charred travelled from town to town. A swift and adaptable dragon, she carried a travel kit with her at all times and while Charred met with strange dragons in taverns and temples, Telen often did quick but complicated tattoos on her new friends as they waited for their seniors to finish their business. The fine, swirling lines of Telen's work seem to shift and flow into one another. If a dragon looks at one of Telen's tattoos too long, including the tattoos she herself wears, they may become mesmerised. In extreme cases, if their gaze is not interrupted soon enough, the dragon may be pulled away but left blinded, in a way, forever seeing moving images that are not there. Telen rarely leaves the Clan nowadays and mostly performs her work under instruction on Shadowclan members. However, sometimes the Clan home is quiet, with clanmembers away on work, and a lucky (or prepared) dragon searching for an exceptional tattooist may breach the clan territory and find Telen, who is always hospitable and welcoming and in need of a blank canvas. |
