Spectrals Subspecies
A spectral is a mix of a skeleton and a soul that is only halfway in our world. It is lingering and stuck from passing to the other side because it is still attached to its bones. They are dead,so they don't need food or water, yet able to talk, walk and pick up items. No one knows why their "transaction" didn't go smoothly. It has not been proven to be a result of how the dragon lived, though many speculate. Many spectrals wants to pass to the otherworld and just die properly, while others refuse to see the fact that they have died. Spectrals are often confused, with a good reason: they remember their own death, though some believe it was a nightmare. A Spectral can be released by changing its tertiary gene to smoke or firefly, as smoke will vanish and the fireflies fly away. These dragons are free to depart into the afterlife. Breed and gene changes will not release the ghost, even when the genes are outside the spectral standard. |

Familiars
Spectrals tend to prefer familiars that are ghosts or spirits themselves, night active, scavengers, skeletal or cursed. They form deep bonds with their familiars. |

Apparel
Some prefer to dress like they did when they were still alive, while others dress in bones, tatters or whatever scraps they can scavenge. Some don't see the need for clotes, as only their skeleton is completely dense. |

V A R I A N T Crow Crows are not scared to be seen, and are highly intelligent. Those that set their minds on getting rid of their bones and pass to the other side usually does, and those who wants to stay, stays. They tend to find joy in riddles, but can be unkind to those they consider weak or dumb.

Variants Though spectrals can be of certain genes and colours, some of the more monotone individuals seem more common. Because of this, many dragons categorize them as midnight scavengers, crows, bloodlingers and naturals. |
