Biography

Darkfury loved the feeling of the warm air under his wings as his flew across the star-speckled night sky. He felt free here. Over the ocean, where the stormy breezes threatened to overtake the inland, and where the inky darkness of the deep concealed the life below the surface. Darkfury, interestingly enough, could not swim. He'd tried once by himself in the shallows as a welp, clambering on the slippery shells. He remembered slipping, unable to stop himself as the water enveloped him in its cold silence. Under water he had thrashed, helpless to the stillness. Helpless to the salt. Veiled by the dreamy blue colours. For a moment, if only one, Darkfury had stopped thrashing and twisting. He did not plan to die, but he also had found peace. The bubbly sounds of the water, simulated in his head, brought calm to his mind. DarkFury thought of the tadpoles nearby, the shells and the sand shelves massaging his baby soft feet. DarkFury released small puffs of air into the water, streams of bubbles that floated upwards. His eyes, having been opened in fear, stung from the salt water and blurred his vision. Yet still, the water beneath was deceivingly clear, and DarkFury took a moment to appreciate this. His heart thrummed from excitement... or lack of oxygen. Small shimmery fish flashed through the water. A vibrant coral reef sat to his right, mostly pink and cream coloured. DarkFury's head began to throb. He had not realized how desperately he'd stayed anchored to the ocean floor, slowly stripping his life away. He grabbed at the surface, disoriented, and began to float helplessly. Shoving his feet back down onto the kelp-ridden seafloor, DarkFury bent down, grabbed at the sand and the shells and shoved hard, his weak legs unable to support his weight. He burst to the surface and threw himself towards shore with water burdened wings. The air burned his lungs, but all he could feel was awe.There was another world beneath the waves, one he would never forget.
