I wasn’t always a witch but that was such a long time ago, time is so very short. I remember back when it was my last day. My last day before the exalting day, I remember being placed on the slab being told to jump into the shadowy black spinning thing, I remember being frozen in place in fear. I think I was pushed, or I don’t know. I can’t say but the inky black didn’t take me, didn’t want me. No, no one wanted me, the first time I picked a plant and knew that it would help the sickly if mixed with this, or that. They wouldn’t listen, I wasn’t a mage or healer, I was told that plants couldn’t do anything but feed, so I did what I thought was needed. They did get better, a lot better, but the damage had Ben done. I was branded a witch. And so I was dragged to be exiled.
