There are two things every child of the Rosewood is taught.

The first is how to defend themselves, using tooth and claw and magic to carve their name into the world, bloody and thrashing. Each and every dragon is run through the same drills tirelessly until they prove sufficiently competent, and each dragon is left in the Rosewood for a night on their own to prove their skill. Those who were weak do not survive.

The second, perhaps even more critically, is devotion to the Plaguebringer. Even dragons who may eventually leave the Wastelands are given the same vicious lessons in devotion. To turn one's back on their Goddess is the ultimate shame, and those who prove faithless are either forced out or forced to believe if they wish to stay alive among Anaimia's soldiers.

It should be no surprise that a child born during the Riot would be considered pious. They're considered blessings, children of great potential, and they certainly seem to have a significant magical potential burning in their eyes. This hatchling took wholeheartedly to Anaimia's words, to the ideas of the Plaguebringer, but whereas most would idolize conversion into others, he focuses entirely on testing the will of Sornieth to survive. He picks fights constantly, duels to test the ability of others to thrive, and those who beat him are blessed by his magics. Those who don't are nothing more than bones ground in dust.
