Mizu

🌊Mizu, the Aquaphile🌊

Mizu is similar to a tiger in the sense that she loves water despite the fact that the majority of her species is primarily sky-orientated.
Lore (as a child)
She gets bullied for her aqua affinity quite often, and
when it gets really bad she escapes to a corridor that leads down to a secret cavern, where Mizu can feel at ease and let out all her feelings into the abyss-like pool that lines the walls of the cave. One particularly depressing day, the bully's words became so harsh that she crumbled in front of them.

"P-please.. *sniffle* just leave me alone..!"
"What, so you can go back to your dumb water-cave? I don't think so. In fact, I think I know a better place for you."
They shoved her into the mud, and laughed in her face as they battered her wings with mud balls. She lied there bawling as the disgraceful dragons scampered away. Mizu dashed away into her cave and cried into the dark pool, her tears causing ripples across the surface of the water.
A few minutes later, Mizu thought she heard a tiny splash at the far end of the cave, and looked up to see a purple-haired mermaiden peeking up at her from the surface of the water.
"Oh, hello little one. Am I bothering you?"
"...N-no..."
Mizu looked to the ground timidly, as the mermaiden waded in closer to her.
"I'm Meryl, what's your name?"
"..Mizu."
She said with a sniffle. Meryl then noticed the streaks of mud on Mizu's wings, and how distraught the little dragon was.
"What happened sweetie? Are you hurt?"
"..They make fun of me for coming here.. B-but I can't help it, I feel empty without this pool."
"Why should they matter? They just can't grasp the beauty of how unique you really are."
Mizu starts to tear up again, and Meryl swims up to her and brings a webbed hand up to wipe away Mizu's tears.
"B-but how do I know it's as beautiful as you say it is?"
"Oh honey, listen to me now. The ocean is a magnificent place, believe me."
Mizu rests her cheek into Meryl's hand as her tears drop to the cave floor, the sound echoing off the walls. Meryl looks concerned and thinks for a second.
"..Come, I'll teach you how to swim. If you love the water so much,
it is mandatory that you know how to handle yourself in it."
Mizu looks up at Meryl with a glint of hope in her eye, and Meryl takes that as an 'Ok.' She motions for Mizu to join her in the dark pool, and Mizu follows the instruction cautiously by slowly dipping a foot into the water. Mizu squeaked and pulled her foot out,
"Ah! It's colder than I thought it would be."
Meryl chuckled.
"You'll get used to it."
Mizu then fully got into the water, a little faster this time but not without some whimpering.
