Healer's Apprentice
When Arya was first brought into the camp by the scouts, she didn't know what to make of what she found. They seemed to be a well organized clan, if small. The leader was a smart Guardian with a good head on her shoulders. She had a Healer and a General to help her out but the Healer seemed to be drowning in patients. Having some experience with healing, Arya offered to help her out.
Arya was a fast learner, soon gathering herbs and things by herself. Patients started coming to her on their own, knowing that if Eireen was busy Arya would be able to help. She toiled alone, watching as other dragons took mates, had children, and those children either stayed in the clan or went off on their own to find their own way.
Then Spike decided to join his mother instead of his father. It was a move that surprised many and seemed to hurt his father slightly. The pressure to live up to not only his father's reputation but that of his older sister made him decide that working as a healer was much easier to do. That is until his first time having to handle a wound and he froze. A hunting accident on one of the hunters made the color drain from his face. Arya jumped in, bandaging and applying pressure, yelling to get his attention. As he snapped out of it, Arya directed him to bring her what she needed, coaching him as he worked.
After that they worked closely, her mentoring him as well as she knew how. As they grew closer it just seemed logical that they would also have a family. Arya had always longed for one and Spike was only too happy to oblige her. When he asked her if she wanted to be his mate, the love in his eyes gave her the confidence to say yes.
