PART-TIME WARRIOR

"NEVER UNDERESTIMATE HIS POWER"

Origins - Like a leaf on the wind, Dustmint simply arrived one day, decided that it seemed like a comfortable place to stay, and took a nap in the most comfortable corner of the clan. Really, however, his life started in a much darker place.

After the discovery of the gene Opal, dragons went in a frenzy trying to get their hands on the rare and expensive decorations. Many clans, while this trend lasted, became "serial breeders", hatching egg after egg in a vain attempt to produce even a glimmer of gemstone. Dustmint was one of these such hatchlings, and while he produced a coat of glittering skin, his mother was disgusted with his colors, and threw him out to try again. While on his own, Dustmint made a few Beastclan friends who helped him grow to maturity, after which, he hadn't the faintest idea what to do with his life.

He wandered the forest, until he found the perfect place to nap, and laid down to rest. When he awoke, he was too comfortable to move, and he would roll around on the ground for a bit before subsequently falling back asleep. He moved only when was necessary to gather food, and spent many days in the same place, living his days in a strange, sleepy haze. He grew lazy and fat, but saw no point in changing his actions. What was the point? No one wanted him, or so he thought.

Eventually, a few young dragons found him, and made fun of his ridiculous actions. Their taunts made him angry, and one day, he gritted his teeth and lunged at them, only to fall over instead, weighted down by his own large body. The young dragons only snickered and flew away, and Dustmint tried to follow, but alas, he could not. He made a promise then, to himself. He would find a purpose. He would find a place where he was wanted. First things first, he left the forest. It held bad memories of his birth. He, through much struggling at first, gradually made his way to the Starwood Strand, where, weary from his long journey, he laid down to rest once again.

Personality - Dustmint still retains many aspects of his old life. He spends more time asleep than in the waking world, and never has much motivation to do anything except sit. But, here in the Clan of Magic roses, he has found friends, something that has given him new life. He's become the clan clown, and often acts like an eccentric uncle to the younger dragons, spinning wild, crazy stories that only a hatchling's mind would believe. He would die for any of his clanmates if the need arose, and while he may not look like it, he is always ready for a fight, taking lessons from Kirakiro to stay in shape.

Relationships - Dustmint tries to stay on good terms with everyone, although a few of the fussier, less accepting dragons find him disgusting. (He is prone to frequent burping.) This has proved detrimental to his attempts to find a mate, as he finds himself drawn to the prettiest, and most often selfish, maidens. Some of the senior dragons find it baffling that he can even sleep so much, and while they try to get him involved in more activities, he assures them, he's happy right where he is.

Clan Role - Dustmint has no official role in the clan, and even if he did, he probably wouldn't do it anyways. Most days he can be found doing his own thing, occasionally "gathering" nearby plants to donate to the food stores, but mostly sleeping, eating, flirting, and telling jokes. It's a pretty good life, if you ask him.

Magic - While Dustmint is not the most powerful Nature mage in Sornieth, he is definitely well practiced, and can cast a good many spells, most of which he uses to aid himself in combat. While residing in an Arcane clan, he is still loyal to his deity, the Gladekeeper, and believes that praying to her will make sure that he is always protected in the forest.
