Bismuth serves as the clan forgemaster. All metalwork and jewelry-making runs through her smithy, dubbed the Lanternforge.

Her past is speckled. Her previous kin rejected her passion for metalworking, ashamed she would work in a career to soil and damage her shine and image, and in turn her family's famous legacy of dancers and dressmakers.

After a fight with one of her nestmates, she finally decided to depart her previous studio in search of a clan who would accept her. A mistake in flight plans led her to flying over the Wyrmround. Being poisoned by the miasma mid-flight, she would have fell right in were it not for the clan defender, Undyne, making a patrol around Sornieth. The lithe warrior spotted Bismuth plummeting and made a risky dive to catch the smaller skydancer. She succeeded, and was able to wake the metalsmith and lead her back to The Cusp for recuperating.

It was here where she met Tenelle. The fae was an amateur jewelrymaker, looking for a mentor to train under. Tenelle was pretty shy introducing herself to the more experienced Bismuth, but after a few visits while Bismuth healed in Ratchet's clinic, the two became bonded in mutual muddied pasts and similar career paths. After given a clean bill of health, Bismuth decided to stay within The Cusp to work with Tenelle.

She and Tenelle travel closely with Xannan on gathering missions to find the best spots for ore-harvesting.
