Descent glanced around, worried. What were all these strange scents? Why was it so crowded here? And why was it SO LOUD?
Descent squeezed her eyes shut as the tall male human urged her forward with a pointed spear. She stumbled forward, almost bumping into the young, grumpy Spiral male in front of her.
The human with the spear jumped up onto the platform that Descent was crouching on, her eyes opened barely. She could see the mass of colorful tents that made up the outdoor dragon auction.
The human with the spear started yelling, and the people down below bellowed in response.
Ever so slowly, the dragons in front of Descent were detached from the chain and given to other humans for money.
It was Descent’s turn to sit next to the loud human with the spear. He yelled right next to Descent ear, and she winced at the loud noise. After a while, the human detached her from the chain, and she was handed off to a tough looking man with his hat pulled down low. He then guided her to a shaded area where a large group of dragons were resting.
The man closed the gate behind Descent. Now it was just Descent and the unfamiliar dragons. Great.
She hesitantly looked around, trying to spot another Guardian female. There! By the water trough. Descent picked her way around the other dozing dragons, trying not to step on any tails.
Hesitantly, she pretended that she needed some water. She took a few gulps, then looked at the Guardian female. She had interesting aqua patterns. Not common for a dragon in Ralan.
“Hi?” Descent squeaked. The aqua dragon looked at her, and raised an eyebrow.
“You new?” She asked. Her voice was gruff, and had a slight accent.
“I guess.”
“Well, welcome to the Aiduin clan. I’m Aqua."
