I can't remember most of my birth, only warmth and love, but with love comes consequences. One that a lad my age couldn't stand to bare. Although I do remember the feeling of freedom and realization as I broke from the walls that had consumed my time and my body.
I looked up squinting with big, blurry, yellow eyes at a dazzling creature. She was magnificent with her blue and purple pelt and her loving, emerald eyes. She looked at me with a caring gaze and then cocked her head to my two sisters who were chirping at her for food. "Im sorry young ones but there wont be any food till later," she spoke in a sudden, worried manner. My sisters went silent and alert as our mum began to sing.

As she finished her song a breeze entered the den as well as a muscular male who seemed much larger then mum. He seemed excited as he padded over to our nest, but as he peered over mums shoulder to get a good look at us his expression had dropped. "They have flat colors and seem to be quite small," he spoke to my concerned mother. "Im afraid you know whats to be done." "Alpha you cant do this," mum wailed as a huge bird dove into the den and over to alpha. "Im sorry Rose but I cant have invalid dragons in my clan." Alpha spoke. "Conian, fetch the kits and feed them to the river." With a flick of a tail the bird soared over to us and tried to reach for my largest sister. "You can't do this to me Conian," mum snarled at the bird. "Don't argue with me rose or alpha will have you sent away," Conian snapped back cleverly as he took my sisters. The huge bird turned towards me and reached out to grab me with his empty talons. I could feel myself being lifted from mums warm flank. I squealed, wanting to be back at her side. As Conian slowly flew out of the den I watched my mother call to us, the song she had sung before.
I listened to her elegant voice fade as I entered out into the cold. My eldest sister had fallen asleep in Conian's beak, but Marnam my second sister and I remained awake. I perked up as the sound of a roaring waterfall neared. The sounded banged in my head as I tried to call for help, but my calls were drowned in the beasts mighty call. Conian drifted towards the ground and placed my sleeping sister on a small rocky bed near the bottom of the waterfall. He then landed and placed me next to her. But the mighty bird didn't place Marnam with us instead he took flight again with her still clutched in his talons. To my horror, Conian had then tossed her into the wild river. I could never forget her screams of agony as she slowly disappeared from the water's surface.
