Kai is a dreamer, and a writer of scrolls. He creates fantastic stories that only the archivists and Lixue know of. Dreams were his closest companions, as they kept him distracted from the world. His only friend is Lixue and all her beauty, distracting him almost as much as dreams did. The two would sit outside at night, watching the stars. They wouldn't talk much, but they'd know. They'd fallen for each other. (Bad writing below, please ignore while things are still in rough drafts) The aberrations seemed to be getting worse. Kai rubbed his eyes, trying to shake the images away from reality. Yarrow, a dragon who'd lived in the clan for a while now, was suddenly a fish and an owl. A shimmering and bright form of a fish floated around an oppressive screech owl. Kai rubbed between his eyes, shutting them tightly. There was no way his visions were coming back. He'd gotten over them once he hit a mature age, no more dreaming about creatures. He opened his eyes once more, discouraged to still see the owl and fish. He could hear the fish whispering, "Kotori, release me. You won't be forgiven, the world is not meant for you." The owl ignored the fish, as Yarrow stretched with a soft yawn. Kai had no idea what was happening. He turned to face Lixue, who was eating lunch next to him. She was a white tiger, tearing gingerly into her meat. Kai swallowed, closing his eyes again. He knew once he saw all of the dragons within his clan, his mind would be at maximum overload. He had the barest of thoughts to look at Topaz, the leader. Perhaps the imperial could explain what Kai was seeing. He excused himself from his white tiger girlfriend, who cheerfully sang, "See you later Kai~" He managed to keep his gaze away from his clan, worried of the things he'd see. "Topaz?" Kai called softly into Topaz's den. He stared at the floor. "Here Kai. What do you need?" Topaz replied. Kai could hear the shuffle of his leader approaching him. "W-well, I think I'm sick. Or dying." He twiddled with his claws. "Or some of the healers snuck hallucinatory herbs into my meat, for I see weird things right now." Topaz snorted, chuckling. The imperial sat down, tipping Kai's head up. "Tell me what you see." Kai felt his breath shake once he saw the imperial. Topaz was a very large wolf, staring at Kai with an intense gaze. He was covered in ice chunks, his fur was silk. The imperial was glorious, and meant to be a leader. Kai could see it all, the hidden sorrow, nervousness, yet great strength and bravery. He was wise beyond his years, the great white wolf. "Topaz..." Kai breathed. "I think I'm seeing spirits." He then went on to explain the nature of what he saw. What he has seen. What he knows. The imperial leader, the white wolf, nodded to Kai. His ice cold eyes glimmered with mirth. "You're important Kai, don't let reality stop you. Please, meet with me every evening. Tell me what you see, all of it. Each day, I want to know who is what, and what they are. Will you do this for me, Kai?" Topaz murmured. His gaze bore into Kai. The wildclaw flushed, nodding quickly. "Of course Topaz. Can... Can Lixue come as well? I don't want to hide anything from her, she is too important to me. We share everything." Kai requested, bowing his head. Topaz agreed, smiling. "Rest, go eat. I shall see you tonight, along with Lixue. There, you can explain to her what you can do." "Yes sir." |
