Biography

Argus self-describes himself as the unofficial “adviser” to the clan, often speaking to Modran on issues relating to other flights and their clans. His slightly nervous and soft-spoken personality make outsiders very confused as to why is he is a a member of the notoriously viscous Plague flight.

Argus started traveling around the world when he was rather young. He claimed his wind clan origins kept him moving from place to place, unable to settle. This was only partially true, Argus actually struggled greatly finding his place in different clans and often felt unsatisfied and anxious around others.

This ended when Argus was greatly injuring by a Serthis attack while trying to travel quickly through the plaguelands, which resulted in him being found by Omisha while laying on the ground unable to move. He was quickly taken back to the clan and was gradually healed. During this time he found himself growing closer with the clan members and their strange personalities.

Argus never planned to stay, he never does. On the night he was deemed well enough to leave he found himself more sad than usual, he knew he would miss the clan members greatly. Argus was never good with goodbyes, especially painful ones, so he decided to leave during the night while the others were sleeping. Before he had the chance to take off he heard the soft rumble of Modran from the shadows.

“You are leaving then.” Argus felt Modran’s looming presence from his back. He quickly turned around to the see the large dragon lounging against the cliff face, his head raised.

“Ah, well, yes.” Argus stammered. “Thank you for your hospitality again, but, well, I think I’ve overstayed my welcome and I really should, ah, probably leave.” He finished awkwardly.

Modran nodded his large head before speaking again.
“You should stay.”

“I’m sorry?” Argus squeaked.

“Stay.” He replied.

“You mean, uh, until morning?” Argus asked nervously.

“Join the clan.” Modran rumbled with finality.

“What!?” Argus said shocked, struggling to keep his voice down. “I mean, I uh, thank you for the offer, but, and it’s very kind of you and I do, or did, rather, enjoy my time here, but I really should be going. I want to get an early start and, um, I don’t really think I would fit in with the plague flight anywa-“

“If you insist on leaving, I will wish you a safe journey with hope the Plaguebringer will watch over you.” Modran said, interrupting Argus’s rambling. “But,” he said as he slowly rose and approached Argus, “Know that you are welcome here. Do not leave questioning if you had a place in my clan.”

Argus looked at Modran and saw only kindness in his eyes. He tried and failed to remember the moment when he stopped being afraid of him. He instead remembered his years of travel, his years of being alone, thinking that it was the way things were supposed to be. He came to a sudden realization:

“I... don’t need to leave.” He said quietly, more to himself than Modran.

“Then don’t.”
