The Shadow Knight.
A beast of magic and trickery, a creature of myth and legend. A force so powerful, so strong, not even the most gifted sorcerers can wield its wrath.
Emerald gemstone eyes, piercing and swift. Cutting and fierce, laying waste to targets without a blink.
A past unjust, a future untold. None know what The Shadow Knight really beholds.

Torran had lain, dormant in a sea of blackness for decades when the words swirled like a breeze into his mind, growing in volume until he recognised the chant as that of a summing spell. It had been a while since he'd heard one of those. How long? He wasn't sure. A decade, a century, a millennia? It all blurred in this darkness. Nothing was true here, nothing was solid. It hummed with tense energy, but nothing corporeal. Even Torran himself, once a proud and noble Imperial was now little more than a faded outline of his former glory.
He felt the pull of invisible talons yanking him from his black existence. Where was he going? What was this about? He found himself unsure, wondering if once more he had been beseeched to reap the souls of the unjust.
His sharpened gaze took in the world around him as it materialised and he was thrust back into his own body, as had happened the last few times he had been returned to the land of the living. Before him lay a crumpled Skydancer, its feathers stained with blood that seemed from a wound on its chest.
Well, that was unexpected. Normally, he would be told to attack another dragon by the Summoner. He didn't know what he shook do if the Sunmoner was dead.
An old book lay at the Skydancers claws, grasped tightly even in death. Torran had seen that book before, of course. It was what brought him to this realm, a temporary change from the cage of darkness.
