One of the newer, odder additions to the Reseach Division of Clan Raire, Chakana is a delightful friend and a bright mind. She is also obsessed with death and what comes after.

Able to see shades of spirits after they have passed on and talk to them since she was a hatchling, Chakana has come to view them as her friends, and to become close and comfortable with mortality. After all, death is natural! Being so accustomed to it, she has become a good psychopomp, and her advice is sought out by both the dead and alive, although the resulting advice can sometimes be... eccentric.

Named for the Chakana, also known as the Inca Cross, a symbol in Andean mythology that represents what is known in other mythologies as the Axis mundi, or the World Tree.
