Aurum

The quick-witted, streetsmart Lightning Rep of the Clan of Shining Stars.

She was rumoured to be the fastest runner in all of Sornieth, the Lightningbolt she was called. It was as if the Stormcatcher's power flowed through her veins, already able to unleash a devastating Shock when she was merely a day old. Naturally, the clans revered her for who she was, worshipping her as their deity's Chosen One. They named her Aurum, after the ancient word for gold, exalting her and casting their worship on her.

But eventually she grew sick of all the praise showered on her. She just wanted to be normal. To make friends, interact with others, not just sit on some high pedestal and be treated like a god. So one night, she slunk away, her glittering scales camouflaged against the night sky. Using the shadow of night and the murk of darkness to hide her brilliant plumage, she slunk away, away into the desert.

Aurum travelled day and night, through the scorching heat of the sun and the cold silence of the moon, through the floating innocence of the clouds and the calculating glitter of the stars that flecked the sky. Her claws thudded continuously against the parched ground, sharp hooks scratching against the cracked, sandy earth. She had a vague idea of where she wanted to go. To the Starwood Strand, an isolated, but beautiful, forest. She knew that she would probably die trying, but decided to go anyway.

It was better than what she had now, at least.
