Diary Entry 1 - 16 Oct '17. Travel, they said. Travel and see the world, they said. Travel with your wares and make your fortune, they said. What they never said, was travelling is a damned dangerous and uncomfortable business. Six days I've been on the road, and already I've been chased by things (too many eyes, too many legs), threatened by brigands (who thankfully were too stupid to realise that the trinkets and knickknacks I carry are of value) and near drowned in the most foul smelling swamp you can imagine (how can one be expected to watch where they are walking when they are trying to find an airship?). All in all it has been completely frightful, and I'll confess a touch exciting. Not all bad news of course. I've made a friend, at least, I think he's a friend. Odd old fellow by the name of Samson. Frowns a lot and has a rather gloomy manner, but he did save my life so I'm overlooking any personality flaws for now. As far as I'm concerned, he's a true friend and handy to have around when travelling. I've convinced him to accompany me to the Bastion, hopefully they'll have work for him there. Diary Entry 2 - 22 Oct '17. The Bastion! We arrived today and I take back all my previous gripes about travelling the world. If I had not set foot outside the clan of my birth I would never have beheld the beauty and delight that is the Bastion Marketplace. So many traders, so many customers. This place is perfect in every way. I've already obtained a small stall, spending the last of the money gifted by my parents, now all there is to do is make my fortune. Samson has volunteered for the city militia and although he denies it, I think he has been making extra patrols past my area in the marketplace. Like I said. He's a good friend.
