Like her name sake, Elanor's runes glowed as bright as the mid day sun when she sang. She was like a miniature version of the sun, filling the grove with warmth and light in the dying light of the day. Like those of her line, Elanor dislikes the heat of the day. She spends most of the day sleeping or talking to Narya and Ereinion.

As a young hatchling, Elanor grew up listening to her mother telling them about the life of the Dawnguards. When her mother was a young hatchling, she had the opportunity to meet her father. Unfortunately, the fate of the Dawnguard made it such that her father lost all memories of his mate and their hatchlings once they were born. Soon after, he returned to his clan back in the Viridian Labyrinth.

When Elanor joined the Nine Skies Clan, she had no idea that she would meet her grandfather. It didn't occur to her immediately that he was her grandfather until Ereinion told her. At first, she was overwhelmed with the thought of being able to reveal the truth to Irien. She tried to imagine his surprise at discovering that he had a granddaughter. But Ereinion stopped her. It would backfire badly on her. He had tried the same thing when he was younger and his partner had almost gone berserk from the overload.
